A few questions:
1. You took both the upper and lower belt guard off. I wanted to do this but the dealer (of course) commented that it was a VERY bad idea and if something bounced up in the from the road it could be disasterous. Any thoughts?
2. I noticed your rear shocks are powder coated black. Did you have this done or can you buy shocks like this from somewhere?
3. Did you put any kind of protectant over the pinstriping or anything? How is it holding up on top of the black denim paint?

i am assuming you mean i have the tool bag on the downtubes. i don't really like it down there and i'm gonna put it up on the forks soon. and it has leather straps on the back and it is on the downtubes.

not sure where he got the d&d's but i'll ask. and like them alot! i really didn't think i was gonna but they are kinda startin to grow on me. aside from maybe the bassani's, i really haven't found a set of pipes on the bob that just make me say "wow, that's it!" i am now seriously thinkin about keepin'em and coating them black. the baffles are out and they are NOT quiet, pretty much on idle through the 'hood. but the sound is pretty deep and rumbly at idle and they crack and blat very nicley when twisted.

on the belt guard, he did that before i bought it, both of them. i really like the look and was wondering about the same thing. BUT, there are plenty of bike out there that don't and previous models that have never had them soooooo.......i'm curious what everyone else will say. (how much worse can it be than an open primary!?)
as for the shocks, they are progressives and they come like that (can come chrome too)
and there is no coating or anything on the stripes. it's a pretty solid job and i'm not exactly rubbing on them anywhere so i'm not worried about them for the time being. plus, i don't think i/we need to worry about detail paint like this sticking to the somewhat rough flat black (as opposed to a smooth clearcoat)
