I tried to purchase this set from a HD dealer. They had the fuel gauge in stock but not the fuel cap. So I paid for both and got the fuel gauge. After a week they sent me the fuel cap. But the problem is:
The colors do not match with the fuel gauge I got. They are both Black
Diamond Collection. The fuel gauge is matte black which fits perfect with
the black denim paint. Whereas, the fuel gauge is more shiny black. Why
is this? I thought (being the same collection) they would be identical in finish!!!
Does anyone else had this issue?
If this is the case of Harley Davidson "standard", I will need to return them both. I really do not care to have an unmatched set. Stock caps match to each other lot better than this crap!!!
Take em back and get a new set. If you can't wait for new ones then just rough the shiny one up and spray some flat black paint on. The dealer should have repair paint that matches the color of your bike.
