My bike vibrates quite a bit, and for some reason when gripping the front hand brake it vibrates even more?
I currently have about 950 miles on the bike and have had it for just over 1 month. The dealer said the vibrations go away after the break in period, I was just curious as to how long I should expect the vibrations to last? Is the end in sight?
My friend has an '05 Deuce and his barely vibrates, he is at 2300 miles right now.
Are the vibrations at different speeds? What make and year is the bike? Does it do it when clutched, or in gear? does it feel like it is coming from the front?, the motor?, the trans?, the rear? Is it a floating front rotor, or solid, could be warped. A softail (duece) with a B motor, will have less vibration then a Dyna with a A motor
Just a thought. Maybe you are not turning enough rpm in gear before shifting . I was getting bad vibration in 6th gear until one of our members told me to not go into sixth until 65mph. Started running all gear speeds higher then I had. Vibration gone.
Vibrations???on a Harley, I'll have to check into that one LOL! My front wheel, horn, motor and me vibrate also, even at low speeds until the rpm's pick up. But its a good vibrate!
Okay sorry guys for the noob post.... let me be more specific...
The vibrations are when idle, the tach is idling about 1000 so that sounds about right.
Whether the clutch is engaged or not (neutral or holding it in, in 1st gear) the vibration is the same. Now what's weird is why it vibrates even more when I pull in the front hand brake.
Look down at your front wheel at the forks when you are sitting there idling....bouncing around right? grab your front brake and the vibes are transferred. It be normal
The dealer told you it would go away after it was broken in cause they figure by then you will be used to it !
There's an easy solution to stop the vibrations on a Harley. I found this out by talking to and meeting one of the most respected Harley mechanics this side of the Pacific ocean and beyond. Scroll down for your solution
Alright I do realize that vibrations are normal... but my POINT was, that the Deuce barely vibrated and mine vibrated a lot.... I was wondering if it was normal or not....
It was a big difference....
It's not like I DON'T realize the vibration is NORMAL for Harleys....
