Had the SB 2 years(2007 SB),HD forward controls fitted from new by dealer...came home today after a ride out, parked the bike up and noticed oil leaking out of the original gear selector hole (see pic) Never happened before, bikes done 12000 miles. Took the chrome button cover 0ff,cleaned it up,put some fluid gasket seal around the hole and pushed the cover back on.Will keep an eye on it over the next week and see what happens ?
Question here is..any of you had the same thing happen..know the cause and is it an easy fix or anything to worry about ???

If it was not leaking before they got their hands on it then bring it back it's their fault , i'm sure you paid alot of money for the work !
I decided upon purchase of my bike...they were never touching it again...they put the pipes on before I picked it up. Decided not to tighten the bolts all the way and left all sorts of greasy smudges all over. I had a few choice words for the service manager and a friend of the family who works there. I was assured it "would never happen again" but that means nothing to me...I'm not the first "hurry up and rush" I know from there....just my 2 cents...
If you do the work yourself you're gonna have to buy new oil, primary gasket, derby cover gasket, o-ring and tower gasket which is what they will probably try to charge you for at the dealership.
I would just do it myself, know it's done right and save myself the hassle with the dealership.
i took my cover to napa and got freeze plugs and plugged it on both ends, no leakes for over 2 years now... with forward controls, there is no shifter shaft running thru the tower, so the tower gasket is prone to dislodging... if i remember correctly the plugs were 9/16
