Default 2010 W.G. A.N. Fairing Install. DONE!

Finally got my Arlen Ness Fairing installed. Thanks to Dr. V-twin for the fairing!.
Instead of buying the needed headlight relocation bracket, I made my own. Total cost, around $6. I found 2, 1/8” thick pieces of metal about the size of a stick of gum. Milled a groove out in the middle from end to end. Bought 2, 3” 5/16” bolts with nuts. Mounted one side of the pieces of metal to the headlight bracket on the bike, then the other side to the headlight. I can adjust it any way I need to. Got a 3” piece of hollow metal tube to put under the head light bracket so when I tightened it down it didn’t bend the bracket.
I attempted to make my own turn signal relocation brackets, but wasn’t happy with them so I just broke down and found a nice set on ebay for $30.
Had my wife come out and help me get the fairing and headlight exactly where I wanted them so the headlight would be pointed right. Marked my holes and drilled them and installed the fairing. Mounted the fairing with 1”, 5/16” bolts and thin flat nuts that came with the turn signal brackets. A small amount of the nuts were left sticking out, so I took 2 spikes from a valve stem dress up kit and put them on the end. Threading is not the same, but they go on just far enough to seat up against the nut and not back off, but not far enough to tear up the thread so that they aren’t reusable.
Total price including the fairing but not paint, $225
She goes in for paint on the 19th. Having the fairing and shield painted vivid black to match the bike, with a silver pin stripe going around the edge of the wind shield part. Then having our club cut hand painted on the center of the shield. They are also removing my tank decals and hand painting a cursive script Harley Davidson in their place. They will be the same colors as my club cut. Cant wait to get that sucker back!

I really like the look of a quarter fairing on a Dyna. Your A.N. Fairing looks great. I wish H-D made their quarter fairing to fit my '09 FXDC.

Part of the reason he had to make a headlight mount was I told him that it came with one or he did not need it. Some of the kits come with this stuff and others don't. The street bob version does not come with the brackets to mount the fairing or the headlight bracket I learned. The version a friend put on his sporty came with the brackets to mount the fairing but not the headlight mount. I know know better what come with what. When you call Ness and ask they are clueless unfortunately.

stuck at work right now, and took those pics with my phone. But will take some bigger pics when i get off tonight and post them. IMO those pics dont do it justice. It looks even better from a distance. And actually the work wasnt hard at all. Making the brackets wasnt that hard at at all. Find the right size pieces of metal or cut them to size. Drilled 3 holes in brackets, then used a dremel tool and made them a groove. (this could have been done easier, but its all i had to work with) All in all it was a pretty easy install. Like Dr. V-Twin stated, when you talk to Arlen Ness, they are pretty clueless on what the kit includes. But when the time comes I will order from Dr. V again for sure.

It looks really good on that bike. IMO I think it would look better with the headlight set slightly further back into the fairing, or black out the ring around the headlight. Regardless, it looks sick and I cant wait to see it painted. I had ordered the headlight relocation bracket when I ordered my fairing and found it to be useless. I just used a longer bold and a nut as a spacer to get mine where I needed it.
