Default Excessive vibration on de-accelerating

Just bought my first first Harley (actually second, but that's another story), a 2006 Dyna FXD with 19,000 miles on it. It's got V&H sideshot pipes and a few other accessories but basically stock. My problem is that there is a lot of vibration at different rpm's and especially when de-accelerating.

Also feels like hitting bumbs or thumping in the engine or tranny from time to time at highway speed. Might be suspension or tires?

Any thoughts on all this? I've searched and read many posts but thought I'd get additional ideas.

Glad to have some help here. Thanks.

I think Harley is having a "ride a Harley" promotion. I have a dealer about 30 miles from here. Maybe I'll go and ride a couple of similar bikes and talk with the mechanics there. Thanks.

Check your motor mounts, front and rear. Could be worn, busted or just need shimming.

Also check your tire pressure, balance, and tread. But my first thought is motor mount too.
