HD shop manual says anti seize and gives torque values. I think that dispels the dry plug torque theory. Personally, if I had to chase threads or do any work that might allow metal shavings into the cylinder, I would pull the heads (simple process, really). A scored cylinder wall will cost a lot more than the time to pull the head. Just my 2 pennies (but I am ****).

Did you use oil or grease? You should have used grease. Grease is thick and will stay inside the grooves of the chaser and catch the shavings. Oil would just run down into the chamber.

Yeah, it 'could' happen. But the odds of a couple shavings, a few 1000ths in size, causing any damage before they get blown out the exhaust valve are pretty slim.

And if it does happen (not real likely but possible) and then you have to pull the head(s)?
