I have an 07 street bob, and i wanna get stiffer shocks for the rear. I took the bike to harley and they tightened them up as far as they can go.
The biggest thing is when the gf is on the back it bottoms out very easy, let tell you she isnt big either maybe 120lbs..... i mean the rear locks dropped even when im on it, i just want the bike to have a level look when we are on it. I thought of maybe goin with tall shocks but i dont know how long my stock ones are.
So any help you guys can offer will be great. Thanks in advance
I suggest that what you want are better shocks, suitable for the two of you. You can chase around trying different brands and models, spending as you go, or contact one of the firms that will build shocks to suit your personal situation. After years of suffering I have recently cured my dresser of bottoming out by buying shocks from HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal. Give Howard a call! (His website is down the right side of your screen). He gives us a discount!

Street Bob are 12" eye to eye, SuperGlide are 12.6" check our classifieds, a few stockers on sale. I would try 12.6" first. I recently switched to 12" Bobs, haven't try with wife on board yet.

Sounds to me like there might be a problem with the shocks you have. I have a 2006 Street Bob, I weigh 275 and my old lady weighs about 140. If I turn the shocks up, it is fine, all the way down we will bottom out some. You may want to look into a Super Glide shock, like HDDyna2006 said, they are a little longer.
I got some HD Progressives for two up riding. They cost about $250.00 new.
I'm a 350 lb fatass and my girlfriend is about 130 and although I don't like the ride they give me, They do handle the weight quite well and were affordable enough.
I have a good relationship with the HD dealer where i live if its something small i need i can just run down and they will do it for free..... like i said my ol lady weighs maybe 120 lbs if that... i dont know what it is it sits low with just me on it and im 240 lbs.... I mite try the bigger shock thing..... i mean i would pefer riding solo but the ol lady never lets it happen the only time i get to ride by myself is if i ride to work (which i dont get to mess around) being its only 10 minutes from my house.
What do you guys think my best option is bigger shocks or try and aftermarket shock?
