The attached document is missing the drawings (figures) referred to in the text, because that's all that I could copy and post. I suggest searching (like Google) and reading up on 'rake and trail' calculations for more info...
Of course your stock front end or even wide glide won't look like that Hawg Halter front end with the upper fork tube covers that extend above the triple trees .... that's probably $1,800 - $2,500 easily ... looks great though (especially with the $600 rear fender) ....
R/'Chop
I thought those were inverted fork tubes...
I think the best part of this bike's looks is how the bottom of the frame is parallel with the earth, the rear doesn't look lowered...
which leads me to think...
Why not slide the fork tubes up the trees 1-1.5" and see how it looks & handles?
That would cost... let me think???... $0!
i went on the harley site and check the rake on the fatbob which is 29
and check the wide glide which is 34...road a wide glide and was very happy
with the handle..if i want to run real hard, i take out my cbr1000rr 2006...
if the price is right i will try it..i was told that if i change only the triple tree
on my bike, with stock fork, it would drop the front end 1/2 inch.i was told i would
see a very small diffence....that from a chopper builder...waiting for the price...
You might want to do some more research on rake and trail before buying anything. Wide glides only have 3 degrees in the trees. The other two is from rake in the neck, which corrects the trail. Get your trail off too much and it may be unstable at speed.
Fatbob, just remember that the WideGlide rode nice because it utilizes a raked neck and tree. Not just trees. Ever heard of Death Wobble? Read through this link. http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/rakeandtrail.html
