Default wide tripple trees

HI i own a 1991 fxr superglide and was looking at widening the forks a little since this bike as the same fork as a sporty, but a lot of people have told me about problems with the handling after change had been done. since this thing takes curves like a racer i figured i could loose a little handling but not willing to change the whole way the bike handles.
so if anybody has done this on this type of model i would like to hear from your own experience to guide me in the with i am going to choose (mid glide triple trees or wide glide )and yes i am changing the forks to 41mm.
thanks

You need to decide if you want looks or performance! You have probably the finest handling big twin ever made, so don't spoil it. If you are interested we can help you improve it yet further, but I hesitate to help you change a fine bike.
