almost 1k on the SG
I reached 943 miles on the SG today. In another ride or two it will go in for the 1K service at the dealer. Normally I do the services myself but the dealer threw it in on the deal.
I gave it a harder push on this ride and the SG steps out much better the my Softail did at the same mileage. Gas mileage has been a constant 50 mpg with the Memphis Fats shield on. We have had some fierce winds the last few weeks and at speed it will shake it's head a little. I generally put a little National Cycle shield on just to keep bugs off my chest. But this was a take off from a Rune that I got rid off and I,m to cheap not to use it.
I will get 20% off at the 1k mark for stuff that I want to add. I decided on an oil cooler, SE stage one breather and forward controls. My knees are too bent with the mid controls. The seat is too low and not bad but not good either
I saw a thread were the seat can be redone to the riders needs, I will try it.
Over all I like the SG better than I thought I would. The only performance problem that I had was that the exhaust scrapes on a tight aggressive turn before the pegs do. Yes at 70 yrs old I haven't grown up yet and like to see how close my ear can get to the pavement on a curve.
