Back in 07 when I bought the Dyna I couldnt decide between the WG or a Fat Boy. I bought the WG and love it but always wondered if I did the right thing. A few months ago I bought a 08 Fat Boy with 3500 miles (in addition to).
I'm happy to tell you that I sold the Fat Boy today. There is nothing like a Dyna and now I know that. In case you had the hots for a softie, let me save you some money... Selling a Harley you don't like these days is not easy and it's gonna cost you!
Cool! Never ridden a Fatboy but have ridden a couple of Heritages and just didn't care for them. The riding position just didn't appeal to me and the fatboy seems similar? I think if I added a bike, it would be a Road King or a StreetGlide but I still don't think I'd enjoy riding them as much as I do my dyna.
For sure it is a buyers market across the country; but I am so satisfied with my bike, there are no plans for selling it in the foreseeable future. I can tell you tho the new Fat Boy low is really apealing to me as is a sweet Police Road King.
I rode the Fat Boy Low and liked the way it sat and handled. It idled smooth, but I could not stand the power band and the weird vibration/feel accelerating and cruising. Definitely would not own one. The 2010 WG walked all over it!

My Brother has an 03 Fatboy that I can ride when ever I want, it's alright but I only ride it I have mine apart. He never rode mine yet, I don't know why but I think he doesn't want to know what he's missing out on.
Over the years i have bought 2 brand new different year Fat Boys and they are fun to ride and own but i always ended up back with a Dyna model, they feel more like a motorcycle with all the shaking going on !
I've always fancied a Fat Boy since watching terminator 2, but in the UK the pricing for the softails is really expensive. Ł12000 for Fat bob which I bought, Ł15700 for Fat boy. A difference of Ł3700 which must be about $5000. On the US Harley site it lists a difference of $1000.
In anycase I test drove both and actually preferred the Dyna, which is fortunate given the price difference. In the UK we have plenty of roads with corners and the softail just seemed to want to travel in a straight line. The dyna just carved aroud them without grinding away.
Nice!! i went in to buy a night train or a fatboy, but I walked out with the Dyna. The softie's just weren't comfortable to me and the Dyna fit like glove and got that "this is it" feeling.

Thanks for the reassurance.
Ive always lusted over the night train... oddly I ended up buying a dyna, wonder how that happened!?
Oh thats right I test road them both on a good twisty road.
