Default Chrome Auxiliary Lighting Kit

Hello all!!
Has anyone put Chrome Auxiliary Lighting Kit (any brand) on their Superglide or Lowrider?
I was thinking it might be a good fit with the bike.

Good idea or not so good?

HD Catalogue description:
There's a lot of road on this planet, and these chrome lamps will light the way. Just add the desired lamp bulb kit (sold separately) to complete the installation. This kit includes the chrome lamp housings, and the chrome mounting brackets that match the contour of the triple tree and highlight the headlamp. Kit comes complete with the necessary wiring, switch and hardware for installation. Can be used with Turn Signal Relocation Kit P/N 68603-01. (Bulbs sold separately.)

It's definitely more light at night and better yet, more light during the day to make you more visible to the cell phone talking, make up applying, cigarette smoking, radio tuning fools that seem to multiply like rats every commute. Plus they just look cool!

I had them put on my Sportster. I like the look but I'm an even bigger believer in PHOTONS. I also have a theory that multiple lights in front make it easier for cages to judge speed and distance due to the multiple lights rather than a single 'point of light'. MUCH better at night of course.

I agree the more light power the better that’s why all my lights brake, turn, signals etc. are LED’s,
Even replace LED’s in my speedo/tach more light and never go bad.

The one thing I think of about “daytime headlights on laws” is an article I read in ER back in the 80’s they reported a test of drivers set up on a control area, they just told the drivers when you come up to that stop sign a motorcycle (some will have lights on, some will have them off) will be coming down the hill/road to your left, just pull out in front of them if you think it can be done safely or don’t pull out, your choice.

It seems the ones that pull out in front, “thinking they had the time” were pretty close calls, why ? turns out most of the drivers failed to judge their speed ! oh yeah they all saw them w/their lights on but couldn’t judge the speed because the lights on in the daytime fools them in thinking the motorcycles were going slower than the ones with lights off. That’s the main problem with headlights daytime on.

I do think of that when rolling down a hill w/a side street w/my headlight on ! (no problem w/a group) if I am solo for me it’s another thing.

So with a wire cut on my 3 position ign sw that problem is over at least in my mind : - )

I really don’t turn them out often (since most people look for light on) but every once in a while and the side benny is, if my battery takes a dump in the daytime (or night hopefully with another biker along) I just turn off the biggest draw and with the low current draw of the LEDs I will make it back w/the power in the battery that’s left, we all know it takes good battery to make Harleys run.

Just my two cents, and worth just about that.
