Felt great to rip around totally unencumbered for a change ... the bike felt quite a bit more responsive without all the additional sail area / 'freeboard' and bulk of the fairing and saddlebags ...

Not that I don't appreciate the fairing ... kinda missed the tunes blaring on my ride ... at least it only takes a few minutes--probably less than 5 minutes--to ramp up for the full touring configuration ....

Based on how much more responsive it feels, I'll be interested to see if my MPG goes up due to reduced drag / weight ....

Thats what makes it great

I have had my touring package on for the last couple weeks to work out any kinks before my Iron butt ride this weekend. I stripped it down for a ride the other day it was great.
