Default Did 1014 miles

On the superglide this weekend. Rode about 300 miles of it in blinding torrential rain. PCIII from fuel moto with Screamin eagle slip ons with BCT baffles, and K&N intake. Never so much as a hiccup or a cough. About 45 miles to the gallon average. I'm happy with the setup.

That's pretty good mileage! I'd be happy too.

Yeah, I was reading somewhere where you were posting your mileage, like 34 or 36 or something??? I was thinking, WTF??? Something wrong for sure there man. I'd get it on a dyno.

I was getting around fifty before the upgrade, but I thought that was a bit high, and I might be running lean. I'm guessing my mid forties I'm getting now is more what it should be. The fiftys kind of scared me a little. I can make it get down around 40 if I'm romping it pretty steady and regular, but 45ish seems to be my standard if I'm doing highway cruising.

That's a lot of saddle time for two days! Nice job. So how's your backside holding up and what seat are you running?

Stock seat.

We left late friday night from tennessee and hit panama city beach coyote uglys, hit mexico city beach, then to appalachicola for raw oysters, back to panama city coyote uglys, then home sunday night.

My butt is fine. I don't know about the rest of the crew. Some of them were getting pretty soft by the time we stopped at hooters in Rome Ga on the way home. A little whining going on, but not too bad. I'm thinking most of the whining had to do with riding for so many hours in that driving blinding rain.

Hey psycho. In the day used to take the run from B'ham to PC for oysters. Don't know how your butt survived the stock seat. Are there still armadillos on the roads.

Wow. Some really hard feelings here for the stock seat. I actually thought it was pretty nice. Then again, I have toured on less than made for touring bikes for most of my late teen and adult life. This superglide is the first bike I've owned newer than an 80 model, so I guess I'm feeling a bit spoiled with it. This bike is an absolute breeze and a pleasure to ride compared to my past rattletraps. I'm having a blast just owning a good dependable comfortable machine I can stretch out on, that hasn't been run ragged years before I ever got it.

As far as butt hurting, here's what I've found. When it starts feeling a little numb, ride about another hundred miles before you stop and take a break. The rest of the trip will be a breeze. Occasionally when I stay off the bike for a week or two (rare occasion) I'll have a little twinge of discomfort on a long ride, but I condition to it pretty quick.

I just got this ride in june. It now has 5400 odd miles on it. I rolled over the 5000 mile service on this weekends trip, so I suppose I should get started on that.

I didn't see any possum on the halfshell on the roads this trip. Now that you mention it, I wonder why??

I love the comfort of my stock SB seat. Just not crazy about the looks of it.
