Default Lowering Question???

I am getting ready to install a slammer kit on my FXDF. Has anyone lowered just the rear and not the front? Dealer tells me it is better and it will ride better. Any input is appreciated. Trying to decide if I go with his input or lower the front as well. Also has anyone had any issues with it bottoming and messing up the wiring under the fender? Trying to avoid a reroute of the wires.

Your bike will look like one of those mid 80's Dodge K cars with 8 people in the back seat. If that's the look you're going for....go for it. Otherwise, I'd suggest lowering the front and rear to keep with symmetry and geometry.

if you have the kit for the front lower it too, having just the back lowered throws off the geometry, therefore changing the way the bike handles, you will lose some ground clearance but if you like to lean it your going to drag pegs, exhaust, etc.

Once you have the rear lowered the answer will be obvious.

Me, too. You can get away with having the front a hair lower than the rear, but not so much the other way around.

It will not handle better. It might be easier to move around in your driveway, but it definatly won't handle better.
