After taking my trans apart a few months ago I had oil all over everything. Went to the auto store for a degreaser and ended up with "Puple Power". Stuff works great on the wrinkle cases shined them up just like new. I've had a stain on my primary case for years that I couldn't get off, the PP took it right off no problem. Now when ever I wash my bike I spray the whole engine area in PP let it sit for about 5 mins then hose it off. Works great. I do want to try the S100 products someday and see how they work.
They want us to clean 'em? What ever bugs and oil that are smeared all over the front polishes and conditions the engine whenever I hit the rain. 35,000 miles and about 7 real washes, one in the spring and one in the fall. I use dawn dish soap and hit the wheels and oil filter area with Dow scrubbing bubbles when I do wash it. I think you may be over cleaning the thing to make it dull.

That is kinda how I've been doing it, more like a wipe down with spray wash and rinse after a wet ride. Just have'nt found the product that gets good results.
Thanks for all the suggestions; will try them soon.

Try the S100 stuff first and you won't need to go any further.
I bought a spray can of Pig Spit. Just spray it on. Black wrinkle looks wonderful. Lasts for months and seems to add a sort of water repellent charactistic to it. My vote is for Pig Spit.
My bikes tend to get nothing but *****'s baths. One soapy rag to wash stuff off, one rinse rag to get the suds off. No hose, no blow dry. Heck, I don't even do a manicure on it!
I do have a new can of Pit Spit but haven't found any dirty pigs around here yet.
