Just got back from a little ride around town and decided to check the temps on the engine with my temp gun. The front cyl was 300* and the rear was 330*. I think I will be cutting out my cat and I can't wait for my air cleaner, tuner, and slip-on mufflers to show!!

So..............is this normal temps? Doesn't conventional oil start burning off around those temps? This seems like really high temps to me.

Those temps are not unusual. I've checked my own heads with a temp gage/gun & seen about the same & a little hotter.

Taking the temp at the cylinder will give you an eroneous reading. You are just measuring heat soak from the cylinders, not oil temp
