Default wider rear

Guys, sorry if this is covering old ground, but I'm looking at (sometime in the future - just kicking the idea around at the moment) trying to get a wider rear wheel / tyre on my 2002 Dyna. It's got the standard 150 section tyre on there at present. I don't want anything too radical as I'd still like to go around corners so I'll be looking at 170 or 180. Anybody ever done it - any tips or advice welcomed

I had the Pirelli Night Dragon 180 on my 08 street bob..waste of money!! not much wider cuz the tire cups to fit inside the rim and I rode it until it went flat. I was on the Pacific Coast Highway when it did, only had about 8000 miles on it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TIRE!!!

i had a 180 SE and it was a good tire but wore out fast, for your scoot you will need to replace and space the rim but that is really all to run a 180

I'm no expert but 2006 up Dyna frames, swingarms, wheels, bearings etc are different from 2002 Dynas. Maybe you have to get a 2006 Dyna rear rim or wheel fitted to your 2002 ? then you can fit a 160..don't think a SE180 would fit under your fender even though it would on the newer rim ??? Like I said no expert on pre 2006 Dynas..just throwing in some ideas

The best thing you can do is check the inside width of your rear fender.Start from the mounting bolts. If you have at least 7 1/4" clearance you will be able to get a 160/70/17 Metzeler tire on a deuce wheel to fit right on.(I did it to my 05)Check out the pic's in my album it shows what to check.
