Tried to get an inspection sticker yesterday and failed because my front brake did not activate the stop light, the back brake light the light but not the front. How do I fix this, I assume there must be some type of switch with the front brake lever, Dam I hate elctrical problems!!
i am confused... do you mean that your front brake switch is not triggering the rear brake light? If so look in the top of the housings and makes sure that the switch has the small V strip behind it to hold it out and allow the lever to hit it, you can also test it by clickin the button. if it does nto work, replace it, real easy to do and you will be good to go again
I realized after, the post was a bit confusing but remember I was confused to begin with hahah, Thats it the front brake lever does not activate the rear brake light.

+1 on what Joe says....
Check out this post (see link below) and you'll find some links to more detailed info and parts brake down diagrams...
After you fix it and get it inspected disconnect it. That when you see the man coming up behind you can slow down without your front brake activated brake light drawing his eyeballs and broadcasting the fact you were going too fast . . .
The rear brake light switch is in the hydraulic line an is a switch that has a little piston that pushes the switch on. The front is a little micro switch in clam shell that your front brake lever moves. I got my last one off E-bay for about a 1/3 of the last one from Harley. Looked like same switch. You need to cut the wire on old one and solder and shrink wrap the new one in. The switch came with instructions but you need patients and be careful and do not drop something on tank. Do not know what Harley charges for this but it mite surprise you since on my scale it is sort of a pain sine my cables will not let throttle slide of with out undoing bars so I sort of just worked with a blanket over the tank. If you have a Harley signal light converter switch that throws three brake lights on you can expect to get about 1/3 the life on this switch. Like I said my bike is on third front and second rear switch.
