I'm curious too. I got to handle one of the Burly shocks and it was way short. Way shorter than stock Harley or Progressive.
But you never know. Maybe it's filled with that new Miracle Poo. I heard they developed the Poo by enhancing the Flubber formula from the 60's. If those slammers work they should really kick butt!!!
The Burley's are made by progressive..... basically the same shock as the 412 but in a 10.5" length instead of 11". They are very short but several posters on here have installed them with no problems apparently.
I know this post is old but figured id add in because i read every threat about the slammers before i got mine. I have an 06 street bob with the wide tire kit and so far riding solo or 2 up has been fine. I did a lot of work before making sure wires were tucked up tight. Riding 2 up is actually better than solo with them which i didnt expect. Very firm ride but i dont mind it. Total weight is about 330#s.
Yeah this is an old post. I just purchased the Burly slammer shocks and the progressive springs. I had to buy them separate in order to get ALL BLACK shocks. I will post pics and the scoop on the ride when I get them on this week.
I like the looks of mine, getting used to the stiffer ride takes some time but after putting a couple hundred miles on them, they feel ok now. Probably a combination of getting used to the ride and the shocks breaking in a little.
