Default Dyna Solo Bag ON!

So I've started assembling some luggage for my Fat Bob. I recently added a set of HD bags for over-nighters but wanted something smaller for day runs. I bought a Softail solo bag that I knew I could make work. I liked the lines of the bag and just got it all mounted up. I have it mounted directly on the detachable sissy bar hardware. I made a backing for the bag out of diamond plate steel to support it and keep it from sagging inwards towards the axle nut or belt guard and bolt. Bolted the plate to the bag and then the plate on the sissy bar. I'm pretty pleased with the look of it. The only other thing I may do with it is to use a spare set of Barebacks (quick-release hardware) that I have, I may use those so I can quickly remove it from the sissy bar. See what think.

only problem is you have to rock the sissy bar all the time to have your bag

easy, just buy one of the quick release mech for 15.00, just the locking mech and use a piece of 1/8 steel and make anoter plate with the cut outs all you have to do is trace the qrignal lower part onto the strip of metal and cut it out, just the lower so you have the sissy bar part. then you can take the bag off when you want with just a solo set-up. jackyl

Nice look. Great job fabricating up the backing plate. The bag looks like Leatherworks from Stockton CA, they make the best quality bags I have seen.

Could you still run the sissy bar along with the bag? Would you need different docking hardware?

Not a big buckle fan but they look good. Where did you get the black lower forks?
