HI, I am new to the forum. I ride a 09 FXDC and I am thinking of purchasing a Harley Quick Relase Touring Winshield. I have used their sport models in the past on a Sporty and a Bobber. This one looks a lot bigger. Any one have any experiences with this shield. I will use it for trips as I like my Super Glide without when riding around home. Thanks for your input.
they're pretty good I think. Got my HD one for $55 with some dealing and put it on for a couple weeks last winter. I hate that my beard blows up my nose and in my eyes but I guess all of em will do that. I put it back in the box and its on a shelf. Quick release is nice. I've heard the rings open up on them but from others not at all, mine were tight. If you're into windshields I would think they are worth it.
I have a 2009 FXDC. I have a Quick Release, Compact Windshield, Part Nr.58348-06. It works great -- good wind deflection, no head buffeting, and I can see over the top of it. Be advised that depending on your height and the type of helmet you wear, you might have a different experience with this windshield.

I use the compact one on my '09 FXDC; rarely am aware of its' presence. It takes all the pressure off your torso; wouldn't go anywhere w/o it. The Q/R clamps set it forward of my headlight a bit, necessitating a small gasket to eliminate back-scatter.
I know when I go to the hd website and search parts I can find replacement lexan's for a heritage... I was wondering if they sell the lexan's for the touring and shorter... I have the touring and would like to try the low one but don't want to buck up another 300+ bucks for it.

I don't know the right height that's why I want to try the short one.
I only get buffeting when there is a headwind. I can move the screen up and down an inch or so with the clamps but I think just having a low shield will eliminate the buffeting and keep the pressure off the chest.
I ride an 06 FXDBI and I have a detachable HD shield. I had a lot of wind Buff, I rode with a helmet that had the visor on it and the buff was pretty bad if the wind was blowing hard. I changed to a half helmet with no visor and most of the buffing stopped. I can adjust mine up and down as for as a couple of inches if I want. I would not ride without it. Sure saves me from a lot of gravel, also bugs and other things. Also helps in the rain some. Still get wet but takes longer, besides a place to hang my small fork bag.
I have a tour shield with quick release. When i installed it, it looked like a open clam. I had to drill and install the clamps in a different way. Looks great and tight against the bike lines. It's just what I needed.
