Thumbs up 7" Headlight Upgade Completed. (pics)

Thought I'd share this info with you all for those who might want to do the same thing.

This is a comparison of the two headlights, 5" vs 7"

Next was to remove the OEM light and install the 7" bucket onto the triple tree. There was no modification necessary, it fit right on without any problem. I decided to cut and solder my factory wires to the new light harness that cam with the light.

Notice the pic above: the FatBoy light is a sealed beam, the Sylvania H6024 bulb. I decided to replace the sealed beam with an H4 Lens that uses a bulb. This will increase my options of the type of light to use.

Next was to simply remove the sealed beam an install the H4 lens right into the bucket.

This is a comparison view of the sealed beam vs. the H4 Lens

I bought the FB Lens off eBay and purchased the lens and bulb from http://www.busdepot.com

There ya have it! Upgrade complete.

You did good bud, pretty much the same thing I'm running, and I put in the ultrstar what ever bulb down at the autoparts house too, I like it, and I think it's more functional/productive than the stocker, especially with my not so great night vision.
Thanks for the pics too.

One other thing I did, which I notice you live in florida, same weather as houston, I sprayed the inside of the bucket with corrosion inhibiting compound, so the next time I should have to change the bulb out, I don't find the inside getting all rusty.

Nice write up. Would you post some pics further back so we could see the new light with the whole front end?

I too may use that bulb, just not sure yet. I've read mixed reviews of PIAA and I'm just not sure if I want to drop the coin on an HID kit. I'll prob give the SS bulb a shot.

You might, but some of your specialty auto parts stores will carry it, those closer to the water, or marine stores. LPS corrosion inhibitor is one of many different kinds. Kind of like stabil, you get closer to the water and you will also see marine stabil, which is more concentrated because of moisture.
