What a ride! Great pictures. What kind of camera did you use?
Vid cam was a Contour 1080p HD helmet mounted jobbie (excellent camera) that my son used for the shots of me riding, for his stills and hand held movies he used a little Panansonic Lumix TZ6. For stills and movies both from the bike (home made mounts) I used an ageing Canon A650 compact. Great little camera but it's getting a bit creaky (like me !) so it's due for replacement. I'm considering either a Panasonic G2 SLR type thing (difficult to mount on the bike) or the new Lumix TZ10 which shoots HD video as well a excellent stills.
For back-up we took an Oregon Scientific Action cam but never used it - the pic quality is rubbish but it would have done as a spare if any of the other cams had got damaged.
The pics and Vids we put on the website didn't even make up 20% of what we shot.

Derv
I hope you post the rest. It was like looking thru a travel guide.
Awesome fotos, looks like y'all had a great time. I know what you mean when you say the one posted were not all of them, when I was in England in 1995, I came home with about 5000 fotos, will never forget my trip.
Thanks for sharing, Dave! I really enjoyed the videos and images on your website.
Must have been a great trip.
Gonna croos the French Alps in a week so I'm anxious to know how you mounted the camera to the helmet. Got any pics, tips & tricks?
hmm about that dirt road? did you hear banjo's? or grown men squealing like a piggy?..lol j/k..Looks like a great trip what was the cost of a ride like that?
Thanks for all your comments guys, it makes the effort of stopping, climbing off the bike to mount the cameras etc all worthwhile when people appreciate the shots and vids.
Rene, sorry for the late reply. I've been off on my travels again - this time touring down in the south of England - in Cornwall - and only just got back. You've probably left for the alps by now but if not let me know and I'll run through the camara mounts with you.
