Don't bother with cleaning the plugs. If there was 2 stroke oil in the gas the plugs are most likely junk now. Put some new ones in and see how it runs.
It would definitely coat the 02 sensors if you ran premix in your bike. No harm would be done to the injectors. The only thing that makes me wonder is why hasnt the ECU picked up on the bad 02 sensors? I have in rare cases while working in the automotive field have had poor performance resulting from aged 02 sensors, that didnt trip a fault code.
Do these bikes have any filter anywhere in the system/ tank? Did the cans have any dirt in them? If the old fuel had water in it, even though you have added a new tank of fuel in your bike you may still have a gulp of water floating around in there.
I would say use a fuel treatment in your tank that someone here approves of. If that doesnt work then I would probably look into cleaning the fuel system by dissassembly. Then replace 02 sensors if all that fails.
Has anybody used fuel treatment here? Any areas that get clogged in the fuel system commonly with dirt?
Ran the error code function again last night and still no error readings. I will run a fuel injection treatment as some have suggested and see if that fixes the problem.

It shouldn't cause you this much prob unless you pulled that baffle & left the other one in.
If that nasty fuel had any water in it, your probs might last for a couple of tanks. The black smoke indicates you are burning oil. I think the two cycle gas theory is a good one.
I replaced the baffle once I got home from the "track day" and secured it back in place with some locktite and spare hardware in the garage.
The black smoke coming out of your air cleaner is fuel from the combustion chamber, not oil.
Check the plugs, gap @ .040.
With the engine running, spray some carb cleaner at the manifold gaskets to check for intake leak.
If that doesn't reveal the problem I would check inside the tank. An '07 with only 3500 miles is an excellent candidate for rust in the tank. With a light in the fill hole, shake the bike a bit to see if you can see any particles sloshing in the bottom. The fuel gauge sending unit is prone to massive rust deterioration and can ruin the fuel pickup and the filter.
the problem is the 2 cycle gas... you've screwed your o2 sensors over.... They're still functioning so no codes are being thrown but they're fouled with oil...
Unfortunately the answer is no...been too busy. I did run the scenario past my local HD mechanic however. He suggested that I run the tank completely dry and then replace with quality fuel. Any thoughts about that? I plan on linking up with the owner of a former indy shop who has agreed to help me solve the mystery. Thanks for all the great advice. I will most certainly provide an update.
there is a fuel line in the tank the sometimes rubs the inside of the tank and sprouts a hole. this results in a loss of fuel pressure which would cause your runnability problems.
