Yep, helmets always look huge when you see yourself in the mirror, but look normal from other ppls views..
I picked up the Speed soul a few weeks back. I wanted the black flake but the dealer didnt have one in my size. I tried on multiple styles in the same size, all larges and the speed soul was the only one that fit good. Multiple size larges fit differently, some were way too tight.. Id like to buy the black flake online but I know Ill get one that doesnt fit..
I have been thinking about one of these for awhile. Between this one and the Biltwell hustler. The one thing that keeps me from going ahead and getting one is that my arai vector fits my head perfectly and is totally comfortable. thanks for posting pics . that is a sharp looking helmet.
Is that 3 snap on shield completely flat when it's not on the helmet so it would be easy to put in the bottom of a bag or is it curved?
It's curved to meet the curve of the helmet. You could still put it in a bag but I would wrap it in something soft so it doesn't scratch it up. When my solo Nash bag comes I'm planning on keeping it in my bag all the time.
So all of you guys that have been wearing the Bell 500 for awhile, what are your impressions now? Those that said they were snug..did the helmet break-in a bit? Do they sit a little lower (closer to the brow line) after wearing for a few months?
Any help and more pictures of people wearing them would be greatly appreciated!
I have had mine for a year. Yes, it fits my head a little better then it did when I first purchased it, but honestly it fit pretty good right out of the box. I do not notice it sitting any lower on my head, but maybe it does. Not sure.
Overall I like the helmet, as a matter of fact I am considering buying another one. Sorry, no pics of my in the helmet. If you do an image search on google for "bell custom 500" you will find plenty of pictures of people wearing the helmet.
I have the 3/4 Dayton in matt black. Definitely a nice helmet for the money, light & low profile. Wind noise can be a bit much at times tho. The wife also wears one.
