What are you 6'1"+ guys doing for a Low Rider seat?
Guys, looking to get a seat that moves me a back in the seat. Mean City can move me back 1-1.5", not sure if that is enough. What are some of you guys doing to help stretch you out (minus forward controls)? This seat is driving me crazy as I feel like I'm always sliding forward. The super Glide Custom seat looks like it might work, but I'm not crazy about the look.
I am not 6'2", but I did not like the being pushed forward by the seat position either, so I took a solo seat and removed the cover so I could get at the foam. Then I co-mensed to cutting the foam away with one of those ceramic knives. I removed that horrendous lump that pushed on my lower back, then I removed all the thickness of the seat except an 1 1/2" of foam, I also scalloped the area my butt would be located. This lowered me in the seat and allowed me to sit back further, almost to the fender.
I re-wrapped the foam with plastic and replaced the cover (temporarily), as I will be making a leather cover for the seat.
(Side Note): the seat in the picture is the original seat that I used to make the modifications to. I will try and get pictures this week of the completed project, I am waiting on my new risers before getting camera happy.
I had the same issue. Bought the HD Tall Boy seat. Much improved. Brings you up two inches and back two inches. Bike is now comfortable. Just back from a two weekend ride and no problems. Best to have them order it and you sit on it at the dealer. That way if its not what you are looking for, you don't take possession and pay for it. Most dealers I think would be obliging that way if they think you are serious about buying a seat from them. Some people don't like the looks of it. I do. And yes, its a two up seat. My sissy bar works fine on the back end.
