Default Do I need a fuelpak?

I've just fitted V&H Twin Slash Slip-ons to my 2010 dyna low rider. I have NOT changed the air filter as I am only after a better sound. Here in Japan the limit is 50mph so performance is not an issue.

Do I really need to go to all the expense of a fuelpak or can I leave it as it is.

Paul

Ride it and enjoy it. You may get some decel pop, if you don't like how it runs, get it tuned or think about buying a tool set and tune it for improved rideability yourself.

I would consider a set of Xieds just to provide a cooler running engine.

It should be be just fine. An awful lot of us are runnng reasonable pipes with no other mods.

It might 'gurgle' a little bit more, but that was there before you did the change. You just didn't hear it.

If you change the air cleaner and the pipes , THEN you have to tune it. Pipes alone?

Just ride it.

Besides, I'm not sure I believe in adding tuning 'hardware' to the bike. If you ever do decide to tune it, you might want to think about software, not hardware.

But that's in the future and is totally up to you. Meanwhile, enjoy it. You're not gonna hurt it with just reasonable pipes.

If you look closely at my sig pic, I've got the same pipes. No other 'performance' mods and no problems.

No need for Fuel Pak or any other fueler with a pipes only mod.

No need for the fuelpak with just your slip ons.

Great question. I have put on the slip-on straight shots with quiet baffles, screaming eagle air filter and did the stage 1 download. My 2009 FXD does have decl pops from time-to-time. I have no fuelpak.

I too would like a better sound - I am told with the fuel injection it's not ever going to sound like the older bikes with carbs... but I would sure like to make it sound as close as possible.

Should I be considering a fuelpak or is it as good as it's going to get sound wise? Should I be concerned with any other type of damage that could happen without the fuelpak?

Thanks.
