can the stock wheels be chromed? or does anyone make a chrome replacement?

 

Yes, they can be chromed. But you'll have to pull the sealed bearings and their races. Then have the hubs machined for new races.

I believe H-D sells a chromed replacement.

 

what is the HD part number for the chrome replacement. i can't find it anywhere.

 

Check at the dealer or ask for a parts book to check the wheels you might want. My brother bought a set and the rear sprocket.

 

Had a friend do the wheel exchange and man did that set his bike off.....

I have checked their website. It appears they do quality work. Im courious,..... On the Dyna wheels is the inside of the spoke area that has the rough silver powder coating,.... do they polish it and chrome it as well? It would look great if the whole wheel was polished and chromed.

Yes they do.... even the hub/cover thingy, covers the side with no rotor. The complete wheel is chromed I've seen one up close and personal. I must say they do a great job!!!

Not really recomending this because I have "been there done that" but if you have alot of time on your hands you could strip and polish the rims, leave the spokes painted and it would look at least half that good for the cost of some stripper,steel wool and some aluminum polish.
