Rich - never claimed to be an Iron Butt ... only Iron Half-*** ... I agree with you about the Stolen Valor decision ... I think it is outrageous that people claim to be war heros who are war zeros (or never served) ... I am not claiming to be a war hero or an Iron Butt ... I was just trying to make a joke ... sorry you didn't get it (or you didn't think it was funny) ....

I believe you're talking about Popcorn Sutton. I think that was his name. He was a long time moonshiner. The feds finally got him when he was 80 or so years old and wanted to put him in prison, but I think he died first. I can't remember all the details. We bought a bottle from him when some of us passed through Maggie Valley years ago. He was just selling it at an apple stand/booth.
A strange thing happened while watching tv tonight. There was some show about hillbillies on the History channel or something and they were showing some famous hillbilly from Maggie Valley NC. Never heard of the place and then tonight I read about someone going there and then see on tv about someone living there.
Oh yea and I also read about someone getting their panties in a twist about a half iron butt joke.

The title is a question. Everyone, including the OP, knows what the answer is.
I'll ask Terry to change the title from butt to half-*** to make it politically correct.

I have a sense of humor, when something is actually funny, and frankly I did not see any humor in a lame attempt to lay claim to something even in jest.
Do you have any idea how many people go around claiming they did this or that, and have no clue what it takes to actually earn something of value?
Anyways, I guess it is just me, so I will leave you all to your humor.....
