I am going to make the audacious claim to be an "Iron half-a$$" ... did about 500 miles (490-something) between 1700 hrs Friday and 0100 Saturday ....
Travelled from Williamsburg VA to Asheville NC ... went to Wheels Through Time museum today in Maggie Valley NC ... highly recommend it!
Dale, his son Matt, and John Dills, as well as the whole staff, were very friendly and it is an awesome environment ....
I'll have to post up a little video I did of Dale Walksler firing up a Flathead ... got a ton of photos too ... I'll probably start posting them up pretty soon ....
Cool!
From now on can we call you Iron Butt Half ***, or IBHA for short?
I didn't know about that museum, I wouldn't mind going to see it sometime.
If you want to try the other half of the Iron Butt, next year me and some other guys want to try another 1,000 mile one. Probably down to Savannah Ga and back. This years 2,000 mile one was a one time deal, it wasn't as fun as the 1,000 miler. Still fun but much more tiring.

Rich - lighten up ... didn't you see the news that the Stolen Valor Act was declared by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to be unconstitutional ...?
Pig - glad you took my joke as I intended ... after that grueling 'half-marathon' I'm not sure if I'm up for the challenge ... but, after I recover, I'll probably change my mind ... I have thought for a while that the Iron Butt would be a pretty good challenge .... Let me give it some more thought ... I have what 10 months or so to make up my mind ...?

Shhhh ... oh wait, too late, I already get blamed for everything ...! It wasn't so bad, I was the senior department head on a small boy and Charlie Oscar liked me ... talk about living large ...!

Highly recommended ... the place is awesome!!! If you haven't seen a pictorial article about the place in one of the major bike mags, you haven't been looking very hard (only viewing the pics in In The Wind ...?) Great bunch of guys ...!

Really don't care what the court said, they were wrong, since you brought it up...
A subject I will not "lighten up" about. I have a close personal friend that received the CMH, one of the most humble men I have ever had the honor of knowing, if you have not earned it, you have no right to claim it, whatever it is.
A strange thing happened while watching tv tonight. There was some show about hillbillies on the History channel or something and they were showing some famous hillbilly from Maggie Valley NC. Never heard of the place and then tonight I read about someone going there and then see on tv about someone living there.
Oh yea and I also read about someone getting their panties in a twist about a half iron butt joke.
Momma told me there'd be days like this... strange days indeed...
Not an Iron Butt....but we just rode from Vancouver BC to Sturgis and back! What a great experience...we did earn the right to say "Nice trailer *****!" though LOL!
