Probably going to get a lot of crap for saying this but I am at this stage where I don't really blame you. A lot of my friends ride softails and they're starting to grow on me a bit, too. Guess there are still too many things about my bob I would miss to take the plunge just yet. Enjoy it and, as a woman, if your wife is more comfortable riding with you, that should be worth a lot.

They are Beautiful bikes and I owned 2 Fatboys/Softails but your not missing anything but a backache , a sore butt, and after awhile a vibration that travels through your whole body that you just can't wait for the next stop to get off to revive it , doesn't happen to me on my Rubber Mounted Dyna i can ride all day and still feel fine at the end of the day !

Hmmm. I bought a Street Glide and sold my softail... finally, wasn't easy and pretty much took a beating to the tune of $1300-1500 hundred, but can use the $ to pay off some bills and more on the SG ofcourse...
Ok boys, I guess you should have read more carefully. I said they are starting to grow on me but I would miss too many things to leave my bobber for a while. Just enjoy the hunt more than the kill. That fits both sexes actually!! lol
Hey i loved the street bob had alot of fun on it. God knows how much money i put into it.When i let it go it really looked like the bobber i wanted. But on long rides it was brutal and long rides are what i wanna do now. And i want the wife to be happy and want to ride with me. So the Heritage is doing the trick we did a 200 mile ride the other day with no pain. 200 miles on the bob we would of had to stop many times I guess our old bodies just cant do it no more.
