Default Need help ASAP

Hey guy's I'm over from the Touring Forum. Got a friend who flew in from Hawaii and rented a Fat Boy Low to ride with my wife and I for two days. today we rode the Dragon, CheroHala Skyway and a few other places. Her bike developed a shimmy or wobble after she get's above 40 MPH. She notices it when she get's off the throttle and it smooth's out when it drops below 40 MPH. I checked for a lost wheel weight, not that! I also felt the wheel bearing's after she stopped and they are not even warm to the touch. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Take a look at the front motor mount!!! See if the rubber mount is broken or came loose, or if the studs came out or loose.

may sound silly, but sometimes not so technical things are worth looking for also. i would check to see if any rocks/ pebbles are stuck in the tread and obviously check air pressure.

Air pressure a little low. It had 30 lbs, I put 40 in the tire. I'll take it out tomorrow and see how it feels. No pebbles found, but looking with a flashlight, so will check that again tomorrow morning. Thanks for all the help.

a fatboy low is a softail not a Dyna. The 30 psi of pressure is probably the correct air pressure as indicated on the frame of the bike(not 40 psi)... Have you thought to contact the people your renting the bike from??? ignore jcmusic's post as the fatboy does not have a rubber mounted engine.

Sorry for posting this in the Dyna section. The air pressure was too low. I put 38 PSI in and the wobble disapeared. Thanks to everybody's input. We rode close to 700 miles in two days. Had a blast! She's taking some good memories back to Hawaii.
