Need a tire quick! What are my options????
I'm heading out this Friday for a 1200 mile ride and I don't think my rear tire will make the trip. I need a 180/60/17 and don't really want to but another Harley/SE tire because they are overpriced.I ordered a Pirelli Night Dragon awile back but it's back ordered until Sept 25. Any other options out there? Maybe go to a 180/55/17? Metzler ME880????

Umm...metz doesn't recommend installing that tire on a 4.5" rim. it's designed for 5.5" rim.
Either suck it up and grab a tire at the dealer, or looks like you're not going anywhere this friday.

i have the 170 metzler on mine, it is very very much narrower than the SE 180 but i have almost 5k on it and it looks like it is brand new, plus it grabs the road like no other! i was just going to order the 180 and put that on till i talked to a guy at metzler and he told me some horror stories about ptuting a tire to big for a rim. i have the 170 for this reason and have to say, i love it! I barley used to get 6k out of a SE tire 180... i will be metzler from now on on the HD

I bought another SE 180 from the HD dealer today. That Pirelli is still on order though. I will put the Pirelli on when I do the 21" front and order the matching front tire.
What size front should I order and where is the best place to buy a complete 21" wheel?

If any of you guys are from around central Alberta don't buy a tire from Gasoline Alley Harley it was $399 that's a cool $420 with taxes......
