Ok here's the back story. I was riding at 30 MPH and my brake in the front locked up along with the master cylinder. The dealership came and picked it up a week ago yesterday. Now a week has gone by and since then they have replaced the caliper, master cylinder, and even the brake line, but here's the dilemma. A week has gone buy and I call today and they tell me the brake line is finally in, it took a week to get it. They tell me its in and they are going to get it on today. Kool beans until I get the dreaded call saying they ordered the wrong part. Now originally they weren't going to honor my warranty due to aftermatket risers etc, but after explaining to them this was how the bike was sold to me along with the extended warranty that covers this according to the pamphlet they gave me. Well after that talk about the aftermarket risers they told me they'd order the brake line. Well here's what I'm wondering! Why would you as a mechanic not measure the cables and lines etc prior to ordering replacements. I'm not mad but unfortunately I'm a bit disappointed that I've missed out on some awesome weather and also missing the scoot something fierce. Do I have the right to be aggravated over this. They have always taken care of me but this seems to me like they dropped the ball a bit.
I'd be pissed off good. I just dropped mine this morning for tire replacement and was told there was a couple ahead of me and it would be about 2 hours. 6 hours later they still hadn't called. I went back because they were going to close in half an hour and they were just starting the work on mine. This dealer claims they do tire changes "no appointment necessary" "while you wait". Glad I didn't stay and have to walk aroung the dealership for 7 freakin hours. I was really pissed and I feel certain they knew it.
This is not atypical. This is precisely the level of service most have come to expect, and if we receive better than a barely adequate accommodation, we feel as though we just hit the jackpot. How sad.
same in england , no better no worse , but we like sitting in the dealers for 5 hours , only to be told its the wrong tank or they havnt got the right connectors etc , we pay top doller for our toys and get mugged off , we should protest with our wallets and get our bikes from japan.........lol only joking ..........there all **** where ever you go , ive got a nice landrover discovery aswell as a harley , and there service is just as bad , you get a nice waiting area , free cofee and a valet , but the problems still keep popin up , find a good indy .......................... better .....................cheaper..............but no cofee....save a fortune and spend a couple of bucks in starbucks

U should count your blessings. Warranty will only replace defective parts with factory parts for that specific vin. If you modified it or bought it that way, HD should not have to pay the tab. You have aftermarket bars and a custom length cable, dig into your pocket to replace the cable. These bad claims affect all of us as companies take them in account for pricing structure.
Suck it up and do your own work. It is the only way to know you are getting the best service possible and the only way to truly enjoy your motorcycle. Brake work is easy, warranties are for the fearful and niave. All you need is a manual, a basic sety of tools, and the ability to read with some patience. This is how real bikers encourage each other.....:-)
