I am looking at buying an 07 superglide or possible another 07 dyna. I am looking to find out if they have had many issues with it being the first year of the 96ci engine and all. I keep hearing mixed info, but it all seems to be old info from 07 or early 08. I figured I could ask for some advice now that they have been around awhile. Any help would be great thanks.
The only issue that comes up from time to time is vibration, which from what i've read on these boards, some have managed to fix by shimming their front motor mount. Don't think there's anything else that I've ever heard of with the '07's or '08's. Probably some more people can chime in here.
Bought my '07 dyna brand new.. over 20000 aggressive miles and no problems.
Its my understanding that the '06's have problems with inner primary bearing failure. They were the last of the 88ci motors.
You should be safe with an 07. Some had noisy transmissions so use 75w140 gear oil in the trans if you get it. The TC96 runs hotter than a TC88 so use synthetic 20w50 in the engine and maybe get an oil cooler installed. That is about it.
