Default SLOWLAYDOWN

What a bummer, just leaving on a chapter ride out in London on Sunday, bike just a week old with partner Sandra on pillion, about 60 bikes moving off turning left at a main road junction with a "COBBLED" raised speed hump. For some unknown reason all bikes started coming to an abrupt halt, I stopped, left foot slipped on dome of a cobble, totally unbalanced me and very, very slowly toppled over.No-way could I hold it especially with Sandra on the back.By some miracle only thing that touched the ground was the derby cover(a small dig from the cobble edge) but my left hand must have taken all the force cos it looks like a blown up rubber glove, not too painful though.Needless to say it spoilt my day but so grateful that the bike wasn't badly damaged, it could have been a lot worse.

Ain't it funny, scraped knees, road rash arms, and happiness when bike not screwed up. And years later recurring pain from bike injuries talked of with the same pride as football injuries. Hope hand heals well and keep working that keyboard.

It happens to most of us. Glad you're on the mend with very little damage to the bike. You know what they say, it's not if the bike goes down, it's when.

Glad not much happened to you. Always the slow part where a dump can happen so easily. I have found myself giving more lead times at lights from the quick slow down/stops from misestimating the drivers in front of me.
