Default 1340cc in a 2006 FXD?

Just as the title says, was there an option to put in the 1340cc engine in an 06 Dyna?

I am looking at one at a insurance salvage auction right now and all of the paper says its is the 1340. I ran the VIN number and it came back clear but when I went to look up what engine code the VIN gave it didnt make any sense. Here is the VIN: 1HD1GP1106K331172

I thought everything after 98 had a 1450 or bigger. Any experts out there want to clear this up for me?

If it is a 1340 does it have the same main case as the 1450 so I can do a big bore kit?

Thanks for the help,

1340cc is the metric system equivalent displacement of 80 cubic inches. This was the stock displacement of the Evolution or 'Evo' series of motors that preceded the Twin Cam that came out in 1999 on the Dynas ....

The Twin Cam originally appeared in an 88 cubic inch configuration and in 2007 was increased to 96 cubic inches (stroke was increased, but bore remained the same) ... the metric system equivalents are 1450cc for 88" and 1584 for the 96" Twin Cam motor (or 'TC' sometimes called 'twinkies') ....

Why would you want to put an Evo into a late model dyna frame? Besides, it wouldn't work because of how the swingarm mounts to the transmission on late model dynas. Evo's had the swingarm mounted to the frame (the way it should be).

Careful with that .... there are some mighty big displacement Evo motors in later model frames!
But I think whoever wrote up the description for the OP's bike just fudged the #'s. They probably grabbed some outdated info, and just did a cut'n'paste.

Thanks for the input guys, all of the paperwork for this thing says 1340 on it, but I took the VIN number from the frame and it just doesnt like the normal VIN you would see on a 2001 or later model. There is no letter designating the engine code like there is on all of the others I have seen. Instead the number 1 is where the letter should be. Oh well, I am going to bid on the thing tomorrow and if I can get it for cheap enough I dont care what engine is has in it.

Call the MoCo with the vin. It might be a stolen rebuilt bike. All 2006 Dynas are 1450cc TC88
