I've been checking the parts numbers since I have a 07 FXD. It looks like the FXDB in 2007 had the same fuel pump and sender unit as the FXD. Then in 2008 the parts changed slightly and were the same as the fat bob's.
The fuel pump is an expensive item: $250+.
FXD and FXDB 2007 fuel pump is 75218-04B.
2008 dyna models (incl. fat bob) seem to have gone to 75218-04C. Same price. Not sure if it will fit a 2007 dyna.
Bottom line: definately can get a fat bob tank on any 2007+ dyna. But, you may NOT be able to use a 2007 fuel pump. They look exactly the same in the parts book. Maybe someone can confirm? Be really good to know this up front instead of switching the fuel pump and finding out the hard way it wont work.
Great mod!
I also like your low profile sissy bar and pad--who makes them and what size is it?
Thanks!
The sissy bar and pad on my bike are genuine HD parts; "Short" sissy bar style.
Specifically:
* 52706-07, Short Upright - gloss black (sissy bar)
* 52517-94, Short Rail Pad, smooth
* 52856-06, chrome rigid sideplate
The "SHORT" style sissy bar also comes in chrome and also wrinkle black, but I don't know the part numbers.
The rigid sideplates only come in chrome (as far as I know), so I had to sand and paint them black myself.
I debated a long time between the "Short" and the "Mini" HD sissy bars, but in the end I went with the "short", and have been very happy with it.
I'm doing the same but with a Cateye dash to give a more old school look to my bike, your dash is probably the same size as my cateye, and it's not huge at all like a lot of people warned me, in fact it's just perfect, can't wait to finish mine !

Bump....
Just still trying to find out if the 2007 sb fuel pump will fit in a 2008 fat bob tank. As I mentioned earlier, very very similar parts numbers, and they look the same in parts book. Just wondering if there are any potential issues (would rather not pay $250 for a new fuel pump if I dont need to!)
Cheers.
