Default install luck

Hey, wish me luck with my installs. I'm heading to the garage to put on some new pipes. The fridge is loaded and my voice is good for some serious cussing. Those O2 sensors better cooperate.

Should be a snap. Keep us posted. Love the avatar! I have two boxers myself (Zeus and Harley).

Well, here's the update. The O2 sensors were the easiest part of the whole process. They didn't stick at all like I've heard of them doing before. I did warm the bike up a little before I had at it, maybe that does help. I wish Vance and Hines had integrated welded heat shields, because their damn things were a major pain. I still have one hose clamp that I can't connect, the rear one up by the head. I think if I swap a larger one from the stock pipes I'll be fine, but I waisted an entire hour trying to make theirs work. I spent around half an hour pulling the two headers apart trying to get the flanges over the bolts. Not an easy fit. And 3 of the four bolts connecting the pipes to the bracket went on in a snap, but that dang forth one just wouldn't take the threads. I kept backing all of them out, shifting things around, and I finally got it. All V&H needs to do is make that dogbone nutplate bigger so it doesn't have so much play in the slot. Then the threads would take right in. If you get a fuelpak, don't even bother with the installation "distructions." Comprehending which plugs go together is easy, finding space is a b$%^%. I like things super clean and neat, so maybe I fussed too much finding a concealed spot for everything. The Ness Big Sucker was easy enough, requiring only a little bit of shimmying around, relatively speaking. And I left the pipe's end caps off too, though I don't know if they'll stay off. All in all, things went decently well. Now I have to clean 'em up, program the pak, and wake up the dead! (And the dog is actually a bulldog. I'm going to have to change that pic.)

New Update: The dead were restless tonight and we're still a month away from Halloween. Holy ****. I didn't think Bigshots were this loud. They seem like they're ten times louder than the stock pipes. They sound like they're pissed off and are looking to kick someone's a$$. I didn't notice any lower rpm torque or power difference, but I would say there was a change in power at higher rpms, with each gear seeming to have more range and stretch. Before the change, it felt like it was choking off and dying at the higher rpms, comparitively speaking. 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears are dangerously enjoyable, better watch out for the LEO's looking to hand me a speeding ticket. I'm thinking of making the old exhaust a piece of artwork hanging on my wall. It looks pretty good laying around the house now.

pictures? I just went through that same process. for me it was a breese except for that damn flang bolt on the rear pipe towards the engine. You say welded heat shields? I have those on the street sweepers and I do believe that's why i hade so much trouble getting the bolt to thread. lol. I can laugh now but imagine the filth outta my mouth then?[>:] now i'm waiting on a part from dynajet to eliminate an o2 sensor then i'll be off and riding again. enjoy!

Yea, but just think of the money saved by keeping it out of the dealer's hands. I don't own a digital camera, but am looking into getting one.
