Thanks again to everyone for all the welcomes! I know I'll like this place and will learn a lot and meet a lot of cool people! I've got a long list of mods for the bike but they will come in due time. Right now I'm just enjoying the bike and the ride! I took the MSF class back in Aug and bought the FXDC. Been riding as much as I can every day since! I've got a buddy right around the corner from me I ride with frequently and I've been out on a couple small group rides with close friends (3-4 bikes) for about 80mi or so each time. I have several friends who ride and I finally decided I needed one of my own to start having fun with! I've already got 1,600mi on it and have only had it two months. I've had several muscle cars and trucks and I love those too, but there's something different about the Harley!

Take care everyone!

I think your other toys will begin to feel neglected by next spring.Save you $ for winter mods. I have been looking at getting and restoring a Vette, pricing out the parts etc the vet parts sem cheap compared to teh HD P&A and mods. Good to hook up with experienced riders, small groups one to 4 best when starting you will get more open feedback and advice.

Only toy I have left is the 08 2500HD Duramax and it's my daily driver. All of my other toys I've sold. My wife does have an 09 G8 GT that when I'm feeling like hot rodding around I take out...that's a great hot rod family sedan! I've been out with some very experienced riders who are friends and it's been a HUGE help...in fact when I took the MSF course at the Harley dealer my instructor was on old neighbor of mine from several years ago and we've since been riding together! I like riding in smaller groups and I've done it several times...we have a 3 possibly 4 rider ride on Sunday afternoon out to Rock State Park up here in Harford County. Got to get the seat time in while the weather is decent!
