and just my luck one of the cheap clamps broke [:@]
wow your about the third person to have a clamp broke.i have had my quick release windshield for 2 yrs and put 9k miles on it.no problems.take it to the dealer and they will replace it for ya.
i don't think i like the windshied, it causes turbulance and noise around my shield area [:@]
i got the low profile one #58348-06
it may be for sale
I've used both the low and standard profile models on my FXDL and the standard profile on my FXDC. I'm 5'6" and both bikes had/have stock seat. Neither windshield eliminated buffeting. In fact, the buffeting was so bad that I would get double vision when riding over 60mph. Now I'm pretty much riding full time without a windshield.

My 97 Dyna Wide Glide came from the PO with a semi-quick release windshield although for all I know its considered something else. (It is attached to clamps on the handlebars and on the outside of the top of the forks. with 5/8" bolts.) Anyway, I am 6-2 and it is PERFECT for any kind of riding. Don't give up, there is a good windshield out there for your scoot that doesn't cause you to get all beat up. Matter of fact, I took mine off for a 60 mile ride and regretted that for the last 55 miles of it.
