Rattle at downsift- any tips
Hello all,
I ride an 04 Super Glide, the issue I have is when I downshift I hear a rattle it seems to be coming from the front end, it seems like the headlight is the source but everything seems tight.
Also fmi (for my information) is an oil cooler stock on 04 Super Glides and if so is the temperature actuated, i.e., if everything is cool, no cooler things heat up cooler comes on line?

Not sure about the front but I had an issue with the chrome lower belt guard. They get a crack in them and end up rattling like hell, especially sitting still. I am about to be on my third one. Might want to give that a look. Good Luck.

I'd check the primary chain make sure it's in adjustment. You mention an oil cooler, does it have an adapter plate where the oli filter spins on? If that plate is close to the frame it could be hitting the frame during the downshift. The oil cooler is not stock. Another source of rattles are your heat shields. Snug down the clamps that hold them on.
