Default First oil drip on garage floor...

3 years old... 19,000 miles. Last oil change (synthetic) was 4000 miles ago so it ain't leaking from under the old filter.

What do I do? Find it? Forget it? Drink heavily? Sell the damn thing?

Sorry guys... paniced WAY too soon.

I posted here... grabbed a beer. Walked out to the garage, inspected the area, grabbed the oil filter by hand and it was waaaaaaay loose. Could turn it either way with 2 fingers.

Never heard of a oil filter unscrewing itself, but then again, I never had a machine that vibrated this much!

But thanks for being there so I clould let off some "jump to conclusion" steam. One of the bennies of this forum.

That one was easy...lucky you. New Harley's aren't supposed to leak, so if you have drops on the floor find the problem and fix it. I had a small trans. leak last spring and if I left it as a small leak I could have ended up buying a new trans. The main trans. drive bearing cage had broken and all of the ***** were pitted. If I had kept riding around much longer I could have ruined my trans. I guess my point is...if you have a newer bike and it has a leak, fix it sooner than later, cause it will most likely only get worse.
