question for the vets

ok here is the deal. I have a 2000 dyna and i have a big bore kit in it and cam and that good stuff. the question i have is it has ALOT of compression and the thing is if it sits for a week or 2 and i go to crank it and the battery is low it pops the starter relay. Part number 31522-00. I was told this was superceeded a couple time and i put the new one in it. 31522-00C and after working on the bike for a couple weeks and not being able to crank it the relay poped again after we got it back together and tried to crank it. Is there a fix for this i'm missing other than putting a battery tender on it, i know that would probably fix the battery dropping problem but is the relay popping with a low battery a normal thing.

Current flow is inversely proportional to voltage. Low voltage equals high current flow, thus relay failure.
Get your battery up to snuff voltage wise and the current flow will be less.
