Highly unlikely I'll actually do this (in my mind right now I will ), but I'm very interested in this S&S 106 kit. I'm figuring that this, the SE compensator, and some cams would be a great mod to do all at once...but I'm not as educated as I should be on selecting cams. What cams would you pair up with it?
Also hoping that lone review on the DK page is a fluke.
Because of good reports here with 106 builds and the fact that a friend has the Andrews H54 in a 103 build I decided to go with the 54 in my 106. No experience yet. Bike is still apart for paint.

Let me know what you think of the 106 once it's done. This will probably be a project for next winter (in the sandbox right now), but I like to torture myself with the idea of future projects way in advance.
I know what you mean about future projects. I'm not finished with the Dyna and I can't wait to use some of my ideas I got working on it on a Softail. And I don't even own a ST. Since the Dyna is going to be my touring bike I want a local rider solo bike too. I have others ideas I want to use on my Shovel.
For my 106" build I went with S&S 585C (chain driven) cams. These produce power in the higher rpm range, but I'm a light weight and didn't need a whole bunch more down low. No dyno yet (3000 miles) but it runs great!

Considering S&S cams, I know many here are big Andrews and Wood fans. There's another big bore manufacturer that Joe said was a forum sponsor, I'll be checking that out too. At this point I have no idea what I'll eventually pull on...I research everything in depth and usually change my mind a few times.
I like the numbers that the Woods TW-6-6 or the new TW-555 put out. I'm also looking at that S&S 106'.... or Jamie's new 107 kit from fuelmoto. (uses the 555 cam).
