Do not read this if you like your rear turn signal relocated to the license plate. I do not, at least not on my Dyna. So as the attatched pictures show, I have moked up the mounting of the rear turn signals on the forward fender strut mounts, tucked up close to the shocks and seat. I am using the Chris Products 36 LED Bullet red turn signal #2020-0158. The problem has been that the Chris Products utilize a 5/16th -24 thred/inch stem hollow bolt. The bolt and bolt shaft on the fender stut and sissy bar plate attatchment pieces are 3/8th inch. And to futher complicate the matter you need a 2 1/2 inch bolt. The longest hollow bolt that I can find is 1 7/8 inch. So, through the bolt wiring was out. Therefore I am using a stem mount simular to the front stock turn signals. I found a 2 1/2 in. 5/16-24 stainless steel bolt at www.boltdepot.com. Howerver you need a spacer to run the bolt through a 3/8 in. shaft. Not easy to find. MSC Industrial Supply Co.http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT...PMPXNO=5390752 has a 3/8 in. OD and 5/16 in. ID by 12 in. stainless steal tube #78803772. You will need a 1 1/4in piece. A pipe cutter works nicely. You will also need a 1/4 in X 5/16 in. ID chrome spacer (another Chris Product item) to extend the bullet housing so it does not hit the side plate when attatched. Next up, installing the Badlands run-turn-stop controler and ditch the stock run-stop light and that ugly rear turn signal relocation crap. And yah, probably chop the rear fender!
Sounds like you may be doing something similar to what I have done. I used my stock turn sigs though, nothing new and just deleted my fender brake light.
