larry-
i told my wife about painting it myself or getting it recoated and she told me...
"I know you like to do things the cheap way, but just do it right...and wrap it because thats cool looking" haha, so im just gonna do what the boss says
Its been said a few times already.....that you made truly a great Score on the BEST 2 into 1 Pipes. With your built engine I'm not sure the QB is the best baffle.... maybe someone will know for sure what baffle you have now.
Will be interested in seeing the final coating and I suggest you look seriously into whether wrapping is a good thing or not......I seem to recall that there are significantly more cons than pro's to wrapping....just my recollection.
Really, really happy with the sound and torque on my scoot.....think you will be very happy with the D&D's
The baffle i have now has to be replaced for my stock engine. I have a feeling there wont be enough back pressure becuase the baffle in the pic is the big bore baffle....
ive always had an interest in these pipes but never could afford em new. When i saw these for sale for the price i paid i could have **** a brick!! im more of a chrome ***** than into black but ill clean em up and get em recoated and probably wrap em. if i dont like em ill sell em.
the old man i got em from had a 113cu in motor so he was pulling 140+ hp with this pipe but it got repo'd. He ended up getting his pipes and other stuff off of it before the bank got it back. so these pipes were just laying around hence the reason theyre scratched up. He said they have a boarzilla insert which he said he paid extra for so we'll see how it goes.

You decide to pursue the sell it option, drop me a line. Looking for a deal on a black D&D for my Street Bob. I am going to build a bigger engine and need a boarzilla. I already have one on my Street Glide and it works awesome.

Well I took the collector to get ceramic coated and to get the mount powdercoated so that should be done an in my hands by next Friday. I sandblasted and painted the headers with high temp BBQ paint and did the same to the heatshields since I'm gonna wrap them. I'm going to order exhaust wrap probably tomorrow.
I'm going with the 2" wrap by 50ft hopefully it's more than enough
