The one I have on my bike (and what I believe you are referring to) is the HD Leather Tool Box, part # 64245-97. Very handy, although limited storeage.
It is unfortunately discontinued, but as earlier posted, can be found on ebay from time to time.

You can get those leather roll bags at wal-mart for 20 bucks. I have a river road tool bag on the front of the bob and it works great. Got a tool kit, rags, lighter, and zip ties inside it. General sized tool bag.
Inside my toolbox is a set of hex/torx wrenches wrapped in a microfibre towel, flathead screwdriver, philips screwdriver, mini vice grips, mini maglite flashlight, zip ties, cell phone, clear glasses, and alcohol wipes.
I like the toolboxes mounted on the front frame tubes, but don't they get covered in dirt and grime from the front tire?
I've been mulling over getting the 'teardrop' shaped tool box that's sold for the Softails ... and modifying the existing mount or fabricating a mount for it ....
Here's what you should do. Its cheap and looks great.

I needed someplace easy to put my cell phone and wallet and other small items on the bike, and I had seen this a few places around the forum, but never with much detail. Cost was around $30 for the bag.
The bag i got from ebay had long holes on the backside for the leather straps that lined up with 2 of the holes on the battery box, so really all i had to do was take a bolt and put it through the backside of the battery box and the bag with washers on either side and then use a locking nut to bolt it on.
I didnt like the way it looked without the band and figured i would try it with the band on and if i didnt like it i could find another band easily if i ever wanted to go without the band. So, i drilled off the plastic retainers on the band that went in the holes that the bolt was now occupying. then drilled out through the hole and mounted the band back on the box, put the bag back in place and bolted it all back together and mounted it on the bike. i think it looks good, and its functional. its not in the way of my legs at all, but i have forwards. it may interefere with mids, but i doubt it.
The bolts i used are longer than necessary, but i was using what i had around. ill get some shorter bolts before long.
